Il Carbomer is a polyacrylic acid polymer used as an emulsifying, stabilizing, thickening, gelling agent and rheological modifier.
It’s mainly used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical fields for the production of creams, lotions, detergents, hair gels and sanitizing gels.
Its gelation, very transparent and with a pleasant texture, is carried out by dispersing the product in water, thus creating a slightly acidic ambient, which is subsequently neutralized making pH basic with Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide or TEA ( triethanolamine).
CARBOGUM 940
“Excellence” Carbomer, a very versatile product.
Highly requested in cosmetic field, good degree of clarity, its main application is the formulation of hair gel and sanitizing hydroalcoholic gels.
CARBOGUM 980
The product has excellent clarity, higher than grade 940.
The gel formed by this Carbomer is particularly bright.
CARBOGUM 10
It’s a modified Carbomer to give further advantage in terms of polymer wettability and dispersion, associated with a high clarity.
Suitable for applications where a less rigid gel texture (a sort of pseudoplastic viscosity) is required than standard Carbomers.
CARBOGUM 20
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl acrylates crosspolymer
CARBOGUM 20 is the modern version of the first “Easy to Disperse” products.
High performance copolymer for more refined applications with low viscosity (0.5% in water 25-35,000 cps).
CARBOGUM 21
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl acrylates crosspolymer
Recommended for high-end applications.
Excellent clarity and higher viscosity power than grade 20.
